The crew of the USS Windrunner invites you to join us in celebrating Captain Picard Day at Windmill Library on Saturday, June 20, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Captain Jean-Luc Picard taught us that exploration is more than traveling among the stars... it's asking questions, seeking understanding, and boldly pursuing knowledge wherever it leads. In that spirit, we've assembled a mission focused on the real science behind our favorite science fiction.

Join us as we explore distant galaxies, the possibility of human life beyond Earth, the birth and death of stars, black holes, relativity, and other cosmic wonders with special guest speakers Francisco Silva, NASA Solar System Ambassador, and Keith Caceres, astronomy educator and public stargazing organizer.

Whether you're a lifelong Star Trek fan, an aspiring science officer, or simply curious about the universe around us, we invite you to bring your questions and your sense of wonder.

Admission is free, all ages welcome.

Starfleet Command has authorized a public outreach mission at the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival Giant Expo, taking place this Saturday at the World Market Center from 1000–1700 hours.

As part of the Las Vegas Science and Technology Festival, this free, all-ages event offers hands-on encounters with the wonders of STEM across the quadrant.

Young Cadets are invited to report to the Windrunner crew for paper rocket construction and their first steps toward the stars. We’ll also be supporting our valued allies at FIRST Nevada

🖖 USS Windrunner Mission Log: Away Team Deployment

Stardate: April 11, 2026

The USS Windrunner dispatched an away team to the FIRST Nevada Las Vegas Regional Robotics Competition at UNLV following an invitation from FIRST Nevada to assist and observe.

Upon arrival, our officers encountered a concentrated assembly of emerging engineers and innovators engaged in the construction and operation of early-stage robotic systems. The away team conducted inspections of multiple engineering bays, observed competitive trials on the primary field, and initiated contact with younger cadets presenting foundational technological projects.

Analysis indicates exceptionally high levels of ingenuity, collaboration, and problem-solving capability among participants. These individuals demonstrate the core principles valued by Starfleet: curiosity, cooperation, and the relentless pursuit of knowledge.

We extend our sincere thanks to FIRST Nevada for the invitation to volunteer and for their continued commitment to fostering the next generation of explorers, engineers, and leaders.

Conclusion: This civilization’s technological future shows strong promise. Continued observation—and encouragement—is recommended.

Starfleet officers from the USS Windrunner will be deploying an away team to the FIRST Nevada Regional Robotics Competition this weekend at UNLV!

We’re excited to explore this incredible gathering of innovation, ingenuity, and future-forward thinking. From the engine rooms (a.k.a. the pits) to the competition floor, we’ll be observing, encouraging, and celebrating the brilliant minds pushing technology to new frontiers.

The event is free and open to the public, so if you're curious about robotics, STEM, or just want to see some amazing machines in action, come join us and experience it firsthand.
