Meet Smoke & Stack! 🪿🤍

These two handsome boys are our Sebastopol geese, a heritage breed known for their distinctive curly, soft feathers and gentle personalities. They're curious, social, and happiest when together.

Sebastopols are a domesticated breed that originated in the Black Sea region and are prized for their unique appearance.

They have excellent vision and a wide field of view, helping them spot potential predators while grazing.

Sebastopols aren't necessarily as loud as some other domestic geese, but they still use a variety of calls and body language to communicate.

And here at the sanctuary, Smoke & Stack have all the room, care, and fresh water they need to live their happiest goose lives! 🪿🤍

A rare piece of good news from Africa: Namibia has recorded its lowest rhino poaching numbers in over a decade.

This success belongs to local communities, wildlife rangers and conservation organizations like ourselves, and people who believe that animals are worth more alive, than dead.

When people work together, species recover. Hope is not lost for Africa’s rhinos. 🦏💚
