Communities across the Gulf Coast are beginning the long recovery from Hurricane Isaias, with widespread power outages, flooding and storm damage leaving many families facing difficult days ahead.

More than 460 American Red Cross disaster responders are helping communities affected by the storm. Red Cross teams are assessing damage, delivering emergency supplies and preparing to provide meals and drinking water where they are needed most.

When the Hawk Fire forced thousands of Northern Nevada residents to evacuate, Red Cross volunteer Susie Askew was among those who answered the call. She spent about 10 days supporting the response, managing a shelter and helping families to cleaning cots and restocking supplies.

❤️‍🔥 When a community comes together, the impact is powerful.

Visit Reno Tahoe presented the American Red Cross of Northern Nevada with a $90,000 donation following a fundraising initiative tied to the recent Ashanti & Trey Songz concert at the Reno Events Center.

The contribution represents 100% of net proceeds from new concert tickets purchased beginning August 28 and will support Red Cross wildfire relief and recovery efforts across Northern Nevada.

We’re incredibly grateful to Visit Reno Tahoe, concertgoers and the community for turning a night of music into meaningful support for neighbors impacted by wildfires. ❤️
