One Week Since Camp Pride Tree 🌈

It’s been one week since camp ended, and we’re feeling all the emotions,so much joy, gratitude… and yes, a little sadness too. Camp always goes by too fast!

We’re incredibly grateful to our counselors and volunteers who showed up with so much care, energy, patience, and love. You helped create a space where campers could be fully themselves, feel safe, and experience real connection and joy. None of this happens without you.

Thank you for the late nights, early mornings, silly moments, deep conversations, and everything in between. You made Camp Pride Tree what it is. 🎵🎵🎵

🌈 Happy Juneteenth from Camp Pride Tree 🌳

Today we honor Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing fight for justice.

Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States. While the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863, many enslaved Black Americans were not immediately informed, and in some places, slavery continued even after the proclamation. Juneteenth recognizes the day when the last enslaved people in Texas were finally told they were free: June 19, 1865.

This day is a time to:

✨ Celebrate freedom and Black resilience
✨ Share stories of perseverance and justice
✨ Uplift Black creativity, community, and joy
✨ Honor the legacy of those who fought, and continue to fight, for equity

From parades and cookouts to storytelling, music, and art, Juneteenth invites us to reflect on history, celebrate together, and imagine a more just future.

At Camp Pride Tree, we ask our community to take a moment of reflection and learning, below are some ideas and prompts:
💭 What does freedom feel like to you?
💌 Write a letter to someone in history who fought for justice. What would you say?
🌍 Describe a world where everyone is free.
📖Learn about someone new to you in Black history

Get ready for a day of slides, sun, and splash-filled fun! Come hang out, reconnect with camp friends, and enjoy a carefree day together.

Field Day
Team games, silly challenges, and classic camp energy all over again! A fun, active day to laugh, play, and stay connected with your Pride Tree community.

These events are open to campers, families, volunteers, and friends of Pride Tree. Whether you attended camp or just want to join the fun, you’re welcome here 🌈

Join The Pride Tree Board

The Pride Tree is growing, and we need your help to keep it going strong. As we continue supporting LGBTQ+ youth and families in our community, we’re looking for passionate, committed people to step into leadership and help shape what comes next.

We are currently recruiting for three types of board roles:

✨ Executive Board
Provides core leadership and decision-making for the organization, including strategy, operations, and long-term planning.

🌈 Advisory Board
Supports with expertise, guidance, and advocacy in key areas like fundraising, mental health, education, nonprofit development, and community partnerships.

💜 Community Board
Focuses on local connection, volunteer engagement, and helping bring Pride Tree programs and events to life in the community.

We welcome people from all backgrounds, no prior board experience is required but is welcomed. What matters most is your commitment to LGBTQ+ youth and families and a belief in creating safe, affirming spaces where they can thrive.

This is a chance to make a real impact, strengthen vital programs like Camp Pride Tree, and help ensure we continue serving our community for years to come.

💖 Thank You to Our Amazing Community Partners 💖

As Camp Pride Tree comes to a close for 2025, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible organizations that helped make this week possible for LGBTQ+ youth.

🌈 Thank you to PACT Coalition Las Vegas for your support of our campers and our mission to create safe, affirming spaces for young people.

🍎 Thank you to Sysco Food for helping ensure our campers, counselors, and volunteers were well-fed throughout the week. Sharing meals together is such an important part of the camp experience.

🎲 Thank you to Omniscience Games & Cards for supporting our community and helping bring fun, connection, and joy to camp.

Because of community partners like you, dozens of LGBTQ+ youth had the opportunity to build friendships, gain confidence, explore their identities, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

From all of us at Camp Pride Tree, our campers, families, volunteers, and staff, thank you for believing in and investing in LGBTQ+ youth. 🌳🏳️‍🌈
