Nevada Black Deaf Advocates honors and celebrates JUNETEENTH. Grateful for our freedom, continued resilience, and drive for equality. Originating in Texas, June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, announcing freedom of ensalved African Americans. This was more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. So today we stand with our community in reverence, honoring Our History, celebrating our freedoms, and building a future of equity, inclusion, accessibility, and opportunities of advancement for ALL.
