🚨 REPTILE MYTH BUSTING!

āŒ ā€œReptiles don’t need enrichment.ā€

FALSE!

Reptiles can benefit from opportunities to explore, climb, dig, forage, hide, and interact with an appropriately designed environment.

Enrichment should be species-appropriate and safe—but it can make a huge difference in an animal’s quality of life. šŸ’š

What kind of enrichment does your reptile enjoy?

šŸ” THINKING ABOUT ADOPTING A REPTILE?

Before bringing home a reptile, make sure you’re ready for the commitment.

Research the species.
Set up the enclosure FIRST.
Understand the diet.
Learn the lighting requirements.
Know the expected lifespan.
Find an exotic veterinarian.
And be prepared for the long-term commitment.

Reptiles aren’t impulse pets. They’re lifelong commitments. ā¤ļø

MEET OUR BEARDED DRAGON AMBASSADOR!

Simon our bearded dragon ambassador helps us teach people that reptiles are amazing animals with unique needs, personalities, and behaviors.

Bearded dragons need more than a tank and a heat lamp. Proper UVB, temperatures, nutrition, enrichment, hydration, and habitat setup all matter!

That’s why education is such an important part of our rescue mission. šŸ’š

Tortugas Reptile Rescue behind the scene look at our new building!

What started inside an RV has grown into a full rescue facility dedicated to rehabilitation, education, and second chances for reptiles in need. This new space allows us to expand our enclosures, improve quarantine and medical care, and welcome the community in a whole new way.

We’ve worked so hard for this moment, and it’s finally happening. Stay tuned to Keepers Clubs events and workshops if your interested in visiting the rescue or volunteer with us!

Thank you for supporting Tortugas Reptile Rescue and believing in our mission. The next chapter starts now. šŸ’ššŸ¢

Meet the author Lisa Let's get one thing straight: Disney lied to you šŸšŸ’”. Love in the animal kingdom
isn't a fairy tale—it's a contact sport, and reptiles have been perfecting the art of
seduction for millions of years.
We are excited to host certified Master Herpetologist and author, Lisa, for an exclusive presentation at the rescue! With a deep
background in environmental conservation—including her work as a Science
Educator with the Asombro Institute and nearly a decade as a Beach Naturalist through Seattle Aquarium—
she'll be bringing her unique perspective to the deeply misunderstood world of
reptiles.
During her talk, she will explore the themes of her book, Cold Blood, Hot Hearts:
The Art of Reptilian Seduction. By combining her scientific rigor with fascinating natural history, her mission is to
finally shatter the myth that reptiles are cold, unfeeling machines.
Forget your prejudices, grab a seat, and get ready—the swamp is calling šŸŠšŸ”„.please make a post and flier for this event. It will be Saturday September 3rd at 2pm
