Two of our members are also wonderful artists! come see their work!
Come see the artwork of our artists of the month in February:
Weeden Nichols and Mary Zawacki.
Weeden first learned photography as a military investigator in 1964. He gradually became interested in art, as well as the craft of photography. He became delighted with composition, color, texture oddity and the inherent possibilities of cropping. He is particularly delighted by panoramic formats. Though this is irrelevant, Weeden is related to Norman P. Rockwell, the Saturday Evening Post cover artist.
Mary moved to Las Cruces from Los Angeles where she had a 20-year career as an advertising graphic designer working for the major movie studios. She grew up in the Detroit area, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She teaches art classes in Las Cruces.
