ABOUT Rock the Night
Rock the Night is an evening about music, community, and fighting the fight against Alzheimer’s. With proceeds benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association, we are directly supporting vitally important research, family support, and educational programs. Organizers, sponsors, and volunteers of Rock the Night are Las Cruces locals who have been impacted by this disease – and we want t

o make a difference. We will make our stamp and do our part to Fight the Fight Against Alzheimer’s. Who knew so much fun could do such good? Join us as at Rock the Night – enjoy a night of great music, friends, and fun – and Fight the Fight! Why is this an important charity, and why should we pay more attention to it? Alzheimer’s currently affects more than 5 million Americans, but it has been proven that every 67 seconds someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s. As though these statistics aren’t staggering enough, Alzheimer’s has just been proven to not be the 6th leading cause of death, but truly the 3rd leading cause of death – and the only one that is still increasing and not decreasing – and is killing more than 500,000 Americans each year. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer’s or another dementia, but it is projected that by 2050, 50% of seniors will die with the disease. Contrary to popular thought, Alzheimer’s is not just an “old person” disease. Though more prevalent in the elderly, Alzheimer’s can strike at any time in life. It doesn’t just steal memories and the ability to make memories, it steals the ability to dress oneself, to shower oneself, to feed oneself, and even the ability to swallow or breathe. Help us take back our future, and Rock the Night to Fight the Fight Against Alzheimer’s. Date: Friday, September 12th, 2014

1. This is a music festival, so dress code is NOT formal! Be comfortable, and ready to dance!
