Four goals are guiding our work: to advance fairness, to create community cohesion, to foster the exploration of interests, and to incubate entrepreneurship in the creative economy

Input from hundreds of youth helped inform the three strategies we are us Our mission at The LAB (Learning and Action Buffet) is to support the dreams of youth, artisans, thinkers, and explorers in creating sustainable and healthy community.

Come to this wonderful training led by Andres Uribe as part of the Lab Youth Workshops, where youth teach others their expertise to help grow and further each other’s skills ✨

This interactive training equips youth with the tools to understand, navigate, and interact with their local school board. Youth will have the opportunity to work together to identify who holds the power in their schools to make change 💡

As you’ve seen, LAB has been up to a lot lately, and we just wanted to take a moment to show some love to the people who help make it all happen.

Thank you to our LAB staff, Board Members, and all of our new and longtime members for continuing to believe in and support this work.

Shoutout as well to our amazing volunteers and frequent collaborators. your time, energy, and care mean so much to us. We’re grateful to be building community with all of you as we continue working toward a future rooted in health, meaningful work, economic independence, and social justice through art, communication, and action. 🫶

This month has been off to a great start! The end of May going into June was filled Music, Dance, Learning and most importantly Community! May 26th - 29th we had a jam-packed Beat buffet calendar; Local Presenters taught beat making, music production and performance tips. A huge Thank You to everyone that showed up and participated. To all the Presenters and Participants we can’t wait to see you all next season. A special Thank you to Collaborators for helping and providing to this experience.

We’re back for another jam-packed year of The Learning Action Beat Buffet 🎶🔥

For those who haven’t heard, The Beat Buffet is a series of Hip-Hop centered workshops where youth can learn how to produce music, Perform, build technical skills, and grow community. Whether you’re just starting out or already creating, there’s something here for everyone.
