About Us
The Bent County Senior Opportunity Center was founded in 1969 and since its inception, the Center has been housed in different locations. The Center is currently located in a building shared with Bent County Public Health Services and is accessible to all county residents 60-years-and-up.
The Center is a non-profit organization and receives operational funds from the Bent County Commissioners. The Director is guided by an advisory board made up five members who serve 2- or 3-year terms and are senior citizens.
The purpose of the Center is charitable in nature and shall provide a safe and healthy environment to all senior citizens in Bent County and the City of Las Animas.
