WHEN AVAILABLE, WE PARTICIPATE IN FIELD COLLECTING AT VARIOUS SITES IN AND OUT OF WISCONSIN AND JOIN IN ON OTHER WISCONSIN CLUB FIELD TRIPS WHEN AVAILABLE.

Tonight’s meeting was all about HEAVY METALS! President Jim Prosser brought his periodic table poster, along with many of the elements that can be found on it. If was fun watching him match them up. He gave a brief talk about the table and groups of elements. Members were encouraged to bring in their own heavy metals.

We have an OESC meeting on Monday June 1st at Evergreen in the Rowland rooms, 6:30 (the usual time and place).

The theme for Monday's meeting, as suggested by one of your younger members, is "Heavy Metal". You can interpret that any way you want, but I was thinking that we should all bring in some examples of Heavy Metals from our collections to show off and maybe talk about. I've got a few ideas, and I might even give a quick overview of metals and their importance in minerals and lapidary.
