If you were there, you are currently in a food coma. Ha!

You just can't beat a potluck. The September Membership Gathering went off without a hitch. Thank you to all the volunteers that help with preparation and clean-up. As our President Glenn Winkler said, "Many hands, make light work."

The annual election of officers was held. The next issue of 'Around the Hill' will feature the team that will lead us into the future, as we preserve and celebrate our past.

This is a schoolhouse in Mikesville and was built on land from the Schwerin farm. The school had one teacher, Phoebe Tipler. School records from 1867 show the district spent a grand total of $397.75 which included the teacher's salary, building of a new outhouse, wood for fuel and cleaning the school building. The new schoolhouse was a wooden frame building built in 1907. The last Mikesville school would close during the 1957-1958 school year.
