French Food Festival

French Food Festival Join us during the last full weekend of October! Admission and parking are FREE!

The French Food Festival helps recapture the essence of the pastime with food, fun, games, and music during the last full weekend in October. Since 1973, local volunteers fill black iron pots with sauce piquante, etouffee, jambalaya, gumbo, and the sweetest Tarte à la Bouillie. The home of the French Food Festival is the Larose Civic Center, located at the crossroads of Bayou Lafourche and the Intracoastal Canal.

🦐Now THIS is what the French Food Festival is all about!

Our festival wouldn’t be possible without the incredible people who work behind the scenes long before festival weekend ever arrives.

A HUGE thank you to the Larose Civic Center Senior Citizens and all of the volunteers who helped tackle approximately 800 POUNDS of shrimp!

Those shrimp will soon make their way into some of the delicious dishes you know and love at the 51st French Food Festival!

It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for every helping hand that keeps our traditions going year after year. ❤️

We can’t wait to see everyone October 23, 24 & 25! ⚜️

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Senior Citizens and volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped peel approximately 800 pounds of shrimp for the upcoming 51st French Food Festival! 🎉

That’s a whole lot of shrimp and a whole lot of peeling! We are incredibly grateful for the time, hard work, and helping hands that go into preparing for our festival each year.

The French Food Festival truly takes a community, and we couldn’t do it without wonderful volunteers like these!

Next time you’re enjoying one of those delicious shrimp dishes at the festival, just remember the hardworking crew behind the scenes who helped make it happen!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Congratulations Ron!!

2026 French Food Festival Grand Marshal – Ron Bailleaux

A lifelong resident of Larose, Ron Bailleaux is the son of the late Ernestine Vedros Bailleaux and Lowry J. Bailleaux and brother of the late Paul J. Bailleaux. Ron and his wife of 39 years, Bridget Allemand Bailleaux, are the proud parents of their son, Brock Bailleaux. Brock and his wife, Traya Bruce Bailleaux, are expecting their first child in January.

After graduating from South Lafourche High School in 1982, Ron began working as a delivery driver for Rogers Parts, launching a lifelong career in the automotive industry that has now spanned more than 43 years. In his current managerial role, he has built many lasting relationships with coworkers and customers alike.

Ron has long enjoyed attending the French Food Festival and decided he wanted to be part of it from the inside. He began volunteering in the bar, where he dedicated 23 years before moving to the jambalaya booth in 2018, where he continues today. Ron also plays a very important role in selecting the musical entertainment for the festival — a responsibility he greatly enjoys.

Before the current pavilion was built, Ron was part of the crew responsible for running electrical wiring beneath the “big top” tent used during the fair. He has served five separate terms on the Larose Civic Center Board and has contributed to countless Civic Center events over the years, including bartending for wedding receptions, company banquets, the fair workers’ supper, and many other gatherings. He has also prepared dishes for the Wild Game Supper. In recognition of his many contributions, Ron was inducted into the Larose Civic Center Hall of Fame in 2022.

Ron is an avid sports fan and dedicated supporter of South Lafourche High School athletics, Ron has spent the last decade preparing and serving team meals for Tarpon Football. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking for family and friends and can often be found on the patio stirring in a black pot.

Ron shares, “I am honored to serve as Grand Marshal for the 51st French Food Festival. All are invited to come and enjoy the great food, music, and fellowship of the French Food Festival!”

Please join us in Congratulating Ron!
