Negotiations between Pawnee Valley Community Hospital (PVCH), HaysMed, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) are ongoing. We remain committed to reaching a fair agreement that protects your access to care close to home.

PVCH and HaysMed remain in-network with BCBSKS through December 31, 2026. Please continue scheduling and attending appointments as usual while we work toward an agreement for 2027.

If you guessed new hospital beds this morning, you were right!

We’re excited to share that twelve new smart beds have officially arrived at PVCH, bringing enhanced safety, comfort, and technology to our patient rooms. Made possible through the generosity of the PVCH Foundation and its supporters, these beds will help support quality care for patients while assisting the Associates who care for them every day.

And these are much more than your typical hospital beds!

The new beds feature advanced safety alarms that can alert caregivers when a patient at risk for falls attempts to get up without assistance. They also include specialized surfaces designed to reduce the risk of pressure injuries, improve patient comfort and support recovery.

Getting 12 new beds delivered, assembled, installed and ready for patient care in a single day is no small task!

A special thank-you to our Maintenance & Facilities, BioMed, Environmental Services, Nursing and Materials Management teams, along with the many Associates who worked behind the scenes to make today’s transition possible.

And there’s more good news! The mattresses from our previous hospital beds have been donated to the Central Kansas Dream Center, allowing them to continue serving a purpose and helping others in our area.

We’re grateful for the donors who support the PVCH Foundation. Their generosity continues to make a difference in the care we provide to patients throughout Pawnee County and the surrounding area.

We take full responsibility for all the squeaking flamingos at last night’s LHS Pink Out game! 🦩

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to see us and helped us spread a little extra awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

We had a lot of fun handing out flamingos, but we hope they also serve as a little reminder to schedule your mammogram or encourage someone you love to schedule theirs! 🩷

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Fall Health Fair yesterday! 🍂

A big shoutout to our ladies in the lab who stayed busy seeing a great turnout in just a couple of hours! They did a great job keeping things moving while providing the same exceptional care they give our patients every day.

We were also glad to have our friends from the Pawnee County Health Department join us to offer flu vaccines, along with several other PVCH departments who were able to be part of the day.

And of course, thank you to our PVCH Auxiliary for bringing the good stuff! From cinnamon rolls to other tasty treats, they made sure nobody left hungry!

We appreciate everyone who came out and took advantage of the discounted lab work and other services offered right here at home.
