Its Members With Honor and Pride. The Central Marin Police Officers' Association (CMPOA) was founded in 2013 by the members of the Central Marin Police Authority. Our community policing approach helps neighborhoods keep safe by working with our police officers daily. The Central Marin POA is active in our communities and many of our members volunteer locally and in the communities where they live. As the CMPOA, we have proudly served the communities of Corte Madera, Larkspur, San Anselmo, and portions of Greenbrae for the last three years. We are committed to not only the safety of our citizens and business but to providing charitable contributions to those in our community who need our help the most. Currently we are involved with local sports, educational, adopt a family, and various local charitable organizations. For more information about the work we do in our communities please visit our Charities Page. Our membership is made up of sworn men and women who protect the lives, property, and constitutional rights of the residents. We would like the website to serve as a tool to facilitate an effective means of communication between our valued members and the communities we serve. Our main goal is to continue to create unity between our police officers and the communities we serve. Another one of our goals is also to ensure that our membership receives the tools it needs to better serve and protect the public, our children, businesses, homes, property, and the dream of a better future for our families. Investing in our community is a passion we share with the community members we serve. To help us better serve you and our communities we share, please feel free to join our mission by participating in any of our events or investing toward our cause. Happy Mother's Day to every mother in our community and in our ranks.

The holiday has been with us longer than most people realize. In 1908, Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia, and the idea spread so quickly that by 1914 President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation making it a national holiday. Today, Mother's Day is one of the highest-grossing retail holidays in the United States, generating over 35 billion dollars in spending annually according to the National Retail Federation.

The mothers in our ranks show up for this community every shift. The mothers at home supporting our members carry just as much. Both deserve more than one day of recognition. But today, we make sure they get it.

Share this post and tag a mother who deserves to be recognized today.

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day to every husband and wife holding down the home front.

The numbers tell part of the story. There are approximately one million active duty and reserve military spouses in this country managing households, careers, and families alongside the reality of deployment. Studies show that military spouses relocate on average every two to three years, making career stability one of the most persistent challenges they face.

Members of this association who serve in reserve components rely on that support every single day. Their spouses deserve the same recognition we give to the members themselves.

Tag a military spouse in the comments today so we can acknowledge them directly.

Cinco de Mayo is observed today, and our members are on duty making sure the community can celebrate safely.

The holiday commemorates the Mexican army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. What most people do not know is that the French at the time were considered one of the most powerful military forces in the world. The victory was a major upset that changed the course of the conflict. Today it is one of the most widely celebrated cultural observances in the United States.

We are proud to serve a community as diverse and vibrant as this one.

Drop a comment below and tell us how you are celebrating today.

On April 23, 1908, Congress created the Medical Reserve Corps, a group of 160 military doctors who could be called to active duty in times of emergency. That small, practical decision became the foundation of what is now the United States Army Reserve.

118 years later, the Reserve has answered the call in every major American conflict from World War I through the present day. Today it stands at approximately 172,000 soldiers, each one a civilian who chose to remain available to their country on top of everything else life requires of them. That kind of commitment does not get enough recognition.

Members of this association who serve in the Reserve carry that history with them every shift. We are proud to stand alongside them.

Comment below and tag an Army Reserve soldier you want to recognize on their birthday.

Earth Day is here, and we think it deserves more than a post about recycling.

When the first Earth Day was observed in 1970, it represented something bigger than a single date on the calendar. It was a public declaration that the land, the water, and the air belong to everyone, and that everyone shares responsibility for protecting them. That idea is just as relevant today as it was 56 years ago.

The professionals in this association enforce the regulations that back that idea up. Illegal dumping, wildlife protection, public land ordinances. It is not the most visible part of the job, but it matters every time someone gets to enjoy a clean park or a healthy waterway because of it.

Do something good for the outdoors today. It gives back more than most people realize.

This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week, and it is one worth paying attention to.

The people in orange vests doing road work alongside moving traffic are someone's parent, spouse, or child. They showed up to do a job, and they deserve to go home when it is done. According to the Federal Highway Administration, there were a total of 2,261 work zone crashes in 2025 alone. Nearly every one of those tragedies involved a decision a driver made behind the wheel.

Our members are stationed in these corridors this week and every week, enforcing speed limits and keeping both drivers and road crews safe. The ask is simple: slow down, stay back, and pay attention. The orange signs are not a suggestion.

Work zones are temporary. The consequences of ignoring them do not have to be.

On April 14, 1948, President Harry S. Truman officially established the Air Force Reserve to ensure the nation had combat-ready forces available to support the active-duty Air Force at any moment. What began as a strategic military decision became a legacy of dual service that continues to define tens of thousands of Americans today.

Several of our own members are part of that legacy. They leave their shifts here and report for duty there, bringing the same professionalism to both.

To every Air Force Reserve member past and present, this association is proud to stand alongside you.

Happy Easter from everyone here at our association. We hope your morning is filled with good food, full tables, and people worth celebrating alongside.

Here is something worth knowing while the egg hunt gets underway. Easter does not fall on a fixed date because it is calculated using a lunisolar calendar, always landing on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox. It is one of the oldest continuously observed calendar traditions in the world, and it still holds today.

Our members are out on their regular shifts this morning making sure every family in this community gets to enjoy the holiday without worry. That is the job, and they do it gladly.

From our family to yours, have a wonderful Easter.

Today is National Vietnam War Veterans Day.

We pause today to honor every man and woman who served during the Vietnam era. Your courage, your sacrifice, and your commitment to this nation deserve to be recognized not just today, but always.

Many of you came home without the welcome you had earned. You returned to uncertainty, rebuilt your lives with quiet strength, and continued serving your communities long after your time in uniform ended. That is not lost on us.

On behalf of our entire membership, we say with sincerity what should have been said long ago. Thank you for your service. Thank you for your sacrifice. You are not forgotten.

Today is National Medal of Honor Day.

There are acts of courage that words struggle to contain. The men and women who have received the Medal of Honor performed those acts. They made decisions in the most extreme circumstances imaginable, put the lives of others ahead of their own, and in many cases paid the ultimate price for it.

Since the Civil War, just over 3,500 service members have received this nation's highest military honor. That number is small by design. The threshold is not bravery alone. It is bravery of a kind that stands apart from everything else.

We pause today not simply to observe a date on the calendar, but to genuinely reflect on what these recipients gave and what they represent. Their courage set a standard for selfless service that continues to inspire every generation that follows.

To the recipients of the Medal of Honor, and to the families who carry their memory, this department stands in your honor today.

St. Patrick's Day is a time to celebrate, and we want everyone to make it home safely tonight. Historically, about 1 in 3 fatal crashes on this date involve an impaired driver. That's not a statistic we want anyone to become part of.

A few things to keep in mind tonight:
Sort out your ride home early. Don't wait until the end of the night to figure it out.
Watch your surroundings. There will be a lot of people out walking tonight, especially near bars and celebration areas.
Stick with your group. Make sure everyone has a safe way home before you split up.
See something, say something. If you spot someone driving impaired, call it in to local authorities.

Have a fun and safe St. Patrick's Day. We'll be out there watching over you.
