It was such a fun night watching my love ***r shine alongside her first-ever installation.
She worked so hard over the past 2 weeks to pull this amazing display together (for one-night only, though her biggest chandelier is available in the Creative Pinellas gift shop - and others through her.) So proud of you and love you so much, Jodi!
It was also a bittersweet night saying goodbye to the gallery.
I've spent a lot of time on that campus as part of its nonprofit business incubator, which sadly fizzled during the pandemic, and for various events over the years. I even held my publishing conference there a couple of times. Through the incubator, I had an office in that space for a few years (and still have a key to that building somewhere, I believe, oops, don't tell the county commissioners) and popped in most weekdays to work on day job stuff, Wordier stuff, whatever, and hang out for a while.
Creative Pinellas has done so much to support and promote our arts community over the years and I know they'll keep up the amazing work even after they leave this campus. And I'm grateful to have met so many friends - dedicated, talented, creative, fun folks - through the organization.
In addition to celebrating Jodi, we also got to catch up with dozens of friends we haven't seen in a while and some amazing art. It was an energizing and hopeful evening despite the circumstances.
Can't wait to see what both Jodi and Creative Pinellas do moving forward. I'll be there supporting both the whole time.
