Cold Temperatures Forecast for Pinellas County Tonight (12/19), Cold Weather Shelters Opening Across Pinellas Tonight at 6:00 PM.

According to the National Weather Service, tonight's temperatures across Pinellas County will drop into the 40s and the wind chill may feel like the upper 30s.

Dress appropriately for the colder weather.
Protect pets and sensitive plants from the cold temperatures.
Home heating is the second leading cause of home fires, and winter is when most home fires happen according to FEMA and the US Fire Administration.

Cold Weather Shelters open tonight (12/19) at 6:00 PM.

Cold Weather Shelters are activated when the National Weather Service expects the “feels like” temperature to hit 40 degrees or below across the county between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
All sites provide a warm and safe place to sleep, and many sites also serve a meal.
Shelter guests are accepted until the shelter is full.
Families should call 2-1-1 for information about family shelters.

FYI if you live near Datsko Park.

Datsko Park located at 3099 Whitney Road will be closed from September 25 through October 6 for parking lot improvements. The construction will include ADA compliance improvements, parking lot asphalt pavement repairs and maintenance, concrete sidewalk improvements, and new parking lot pavement markings.
