This summer, a select cohort of twenty rising Seniors will participate in an intensive, two-week academic residency at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. Founded in 1218, the Universidad de Salamanca is renowned as the oldest university in Spain and one of the most venerable educational institutions in continuous global operation.

The students' curriculum centers on rigorous academic and cultural coursework, focusing on the Spanish language, culture, and speech. This immersive experience is strategically designed to expand global awareness and enhance academic proficiencies by positioning students alongside peers from diverse international backgrounds, thereby fostering essential skills in independence and cross-cultural communication.

Complementing the classroom instruction are enriching cultural excursions, including weekend visits to the historical cities of Segovia and Toledo. These explorations provide students with direct, firsthand engagement with Spain’s profound architectural and historical heritage. This exceptional opportunity, which serves to open the door to the world for our students and align with our vision of developing responsible global leaders, is made possible through the unwavering support of Superintendent Dr. Gerardo Cruz and the Board of Trustees.

Five students from each high school were selected through a competitive application process.
