📚🍎 Workforce Solutions for South Texas proudly welcomed educators to the 2026 Externships for Teachers Orientation on Monday, June 1, at the Falcon Executive Conference Center on the Laredo College Main Campus.

The day began with welcome remarks from Executive Director Rogelio Treviño and Dr. Minita Ramirez, President of Laredo College, followed by an insightful presentation from Dr. Rodney Rodriguez on current labor market information and high-demand occupations shaping the future workforce.

Teachers also learned about the goals and expectations of the externship experience before participating in an engaging employer panel discussion moderated by Dr. Rodriguez. Seven local employers shared valuable industry perspectives, workforce needs, and real-world experiences that will help educators connect classroom instruction to today's workplace demands.

We thank all participating teachers, employers, and presenters for helping make this year's orientation a success. We look forward to an impactful summer of learning, collaboration, and workforce exploration throughout South Texas!
