Creating space for community connections! 💙🤝

We’re happy to welcome Together Laredo Foundation and VAIL Center for Independent Living to MileOne as they bring people together through learning, resources, and support.

Providing affordable spaces where local nonprofits can host programs and serve our community is part of what makes MileOne special. Thank you, Together Laredo, for helping build a more inclusive, connected Laredo!

💙 This week, we learned about COMMUNITY! 🤝

This was our second session with VAIL Center for Independent Living Laredo TX- VAIL and we are so grateful for the resources, guidance, and support they provide to our community.

We are also incredibly thankful for spaces like MileOne, which create opportunities for small nonprofits like Together Laredo Foundation to access affordable spaces to host programs, offer workshops, and bring people together.

Community is about more than just having resources — it’s about creating connections, opening doors, and making sure everyone has a place to belong. 💙

Together, we are building a more inclusive Laredo, one connection at a time!

On October 1, we wrapped up our 2026 Women Entrepreneurs Rock series with WERS – Made in Laredo, supported by PNC. An evening of learning, connection, and community made this finale one to remember.

A heartfelt thank you to Kelley Masters, founder of Homemade Texas, for making the drive through the rain and sharing her knowledge and passion with our entrepreneurs. We’re also grateful to Laura López Barroso, founder of Made in Laredo and manjares.delatierra, for helping bring this celebration to life.

The evening marked MileOne’s second year hosting the Texas Venture Festival in Laredo! Thank you, Gerardo Vasquez, for trusting us to help bring this opportunity to our community.

Monday meeting recap!

We had a great meeting with an emotional speech about the World Teachers' Day, along with some table topics, evaluations, and a lot of laughter.

The Word of the Day: Confabulate (verb): to chat or converse casually.

Funny enough, that's half of what makes our meetings special. Between the prepared speeches and impromptu rounds, there's always time to swap stories, trade tips, and get to know the people around you. Confidence grows fastest when conversation feels easy.

If you're a student, a business owner, a career changer, or just someone who gets butterflies before speaking, you'll fit right in. Everyone starts somewhere, and everyone gets cheered on.

Guests are always welcome. Just show up and see for yourself!
