As we enter another Pride Month, I find myself reflecting on how far our community has come, and the lessons that come with leadership, growth, and resilience.
Leading a volunteer-driven organization is both rewarding and challenging. There are moments of celebration, moments of exhaustion, and moments when the work reminds you just how personal community leadership can be.
But one lesson remains true⦠community work is not about one person or one organization. It is about creating space for others to grow, contribute, and serve in their own way.
As I continue serving the final year of my second term as President of Gateway City Pride Association, I remain grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the many past and present board members, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who have helped build this organization. Gateway City Pride would not be where it is today without their dedication, passion, and commitment to serving our community.
For six years, Gateway City Pride has remained committed to visibility, inclusion, education, and celebration for our LGBTQ+ community here in Laredo.
We are grateful for the allies, community partners, volunteers, local businesses, and individuals who continue to support and uplift our community throughout the year.
Together, we invite you, your friends, and your families to join the festivities throughout Pride Month as we celebrate love, resilience, visibility, and community right here in Laredo.
