Good Morning from the Albany County Historic Preservation Board!
We are opening the public comment period for the draft National Register Historic District for the West Side Neighborhood of Laramie, Wyoming. The draft nomination is linked here (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UKsg8OJ-dXM0EsjPEumzAXoEgqsqhwzP/view). This is an exciting step for recognizing the important historic character of the West Side Neighborhood, and we hope you all enjoy reading the Nomination!
If you have any difficulties accessing the document via the link, please reach out directly to Gwendolyn Kristy at [email protected]. Please circulate this email far and wide. All members of our community are welcome to comment on the Draft Nomination.
All comments must be submitted no later than 5 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Comments must be submitted to the following email address "[email protected]" with the subject line "West Side Nomination Public Comment." Comments may be submitted as text in an email body or as an attached document with typed notes.
A public meeting will be hosted by the Albany County Historic Preservation Board on Monday March 3rd at the Lincoln Community Center from 6 pm until 7:15 pm in the gym. If you have any questions about the Draft Nomination or need help navigating the National Register Form it is on, that will be your time to have an in-person conversation about it! We understand that the National Park Service forms that nominations are required to use can be confusing to navigate, and want to make sure everyone has ample opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification.
If anyone is interested in the guidelines that must be followed for Nominations, please see National Register Bulletin 16A, linked here (https://www.nps.gov/subjects/nationalregister/upload/NRB16A-Complete.pdf), or simply search "How to Complete the National Register Registration Form" and the National Park Service guidance will come up. There are strict guidelines as to how these nominations are prepared and written.
Once again, do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the project.
Sincerely,
The Albany County Historic Preservation Board
