On April 8th, four new game wardens graduated from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy Peace Officer Basic Course in Douglas.
This is a 14-week, 639-hour course in which students are instructed in topics such as Constitutional Law, Search and Seizure, Emergency Vehicle Operations, Custody and Control, Fi****ms, and more.
August Muscato, originally from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, will be stationed in the Laramie Region.
David Gaul, originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, will be stationed in the Sheridan Region.
Dylan Scherer, originally from Golden, Colorado, will be stationed in the Cody Region.
Jacob Folaron, originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be stationed in the Green River Region.
In addition to the wardens graduating from the Academy, two more game wardens were already certified peace officers and completed the requisite testing to transfer their certifications to Wyoming.
Dillon Bates, originally from Wilber, Nebraska, is currently serving as the South Riverton Game Warden in the Lander Region. Dillon comes to Wyoming after having served as a warden with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.
John Johnson, originally from Boyd, Texas, is serving as the Access Yes Coordinator for the Casper Region. John brings extensive experience from a lengthy career with the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
Another aspect that made this graduation more special was the keynote address by our longest-serving game warden, Rod Lebert, who is stationed in Douglas.
