Save the date! 🍴✨ Taste of Laradise returns to Downtown Laramie on Saturday, June 13.

Join us for a fun day exploring local food, drinks, and downtown favorites as businesses roll out special offerings just for the event. It’s a great way to discover new spots, revisit old favorites, and celebrate everything that makes our downtown special. 🔥

More details are coming soon… including the local nonprofit we’ll be partnering with and supporting through this year’s event. Stay tuned! 👀

Last week, we took a quick trip down Highway 287 with Bob Moore (AKA Dr. Robert), joined by Mike Gray from Wyoming Public Radio & Media.

Bob walked us through the story of how this north–south corridor slowly developed over decades, eventually linking the Texas Gulf Coast with Montana while passing right through Wyoming. Long before modern interstates, it connected small towns, sweeping landscapes, and communities across the region.

The presentation was perfectly titled “The Highway 287 Ramble.” Fittingly, The Ramble is also Bob’s three-hour music program that airs every Sunday from 4–7 PM.

Our very own Rotarian Christina Kuzmych, General Manager of Wyoming Public Radio, wrapped things up with an excellent Q&A session following the presentation.

Our Club's Presentation Committee continues to bring outstanding speakers and partners before the club… here are a few more recent highlights.

🌍 Thany Dykson joined us as a Rotary Global Grant Scholarship awardee, sharing about her time in the United Kingdom pursuing her master’s in oceanography and researching coral ecosystems. Her host club was Southampton Solent Rotary.

🏛️ Kaley Holyfield shared about her work with the Wyoming Business Council and the role it plays across Wyoming.

🌱 And Daniel Minton and part of his team at Rooted In Laramie highlighted their amazing work throughout town… they are an amazing partner of our club and Rotary as a whole.

📣Celebrating a great moment from one of our recent Rotary meetings.🛞

We were proud to induct Andrew Porter-Merrill into the club and welcome John Freeman back to Rotary. We also had the honor of recognizing Tom Mangan on achieving Paul Harris Fellow +7… an incredible milestone that represents years of generosity, commitment, and a deep belief in "Service Above Self". His continued support of The Rotary Foundation makes a lasting impact both locally and around the world.

We’ve had a lot of special moments over the past several weeks, and we’re enjoying playing a little catch-up by sharing them.

💙 We loved having Sarah Kirkland join us to share about Hospice of Laramie and the heart behind the care they provide to our community. From its early days as a volunteer effort to today’s team supporting patients and families with comfort and compassion, their mission continues to make a real difference.

💛 With plans to expand the Hospice House and serve even more families in the years ahead, the future is bright. Thank you, Sarah, for spending time with us and for the incredible work you and your team do every day.

We’re happy to share that we inducted two members into the club last month… Nicole Sherwood and Dan Furphy.

Nicole is the Laramie Program Manager for Climb Wyoming, doing important work right here in our community. And while everyone already knows Dan, we’re especially glad to welcome him back after several years away, while serving in the Wyoming State Legislature.

Great to have you both as part of the club.

Sean gave a great look at how their productions go beyond entertainment to tackle meaningful social issues, while also investing in youth through their PlayWrite education program. It’s clear the impact they’re making in Laramie…and the momentum they continue to build 👏.

The Laramie Rotary Club extends its sincere thanks to Ted Cramer for joining us last week to share an update on the Laramie Soup Kitchen. Learning about the record number of people served this year was both eye-opening and inspiring, and we wish him every success as the organization moves forward with its significant new project 🍽️💛

Ted is a true champion for Laramie… a kindhearted presence and a strong, steady leader in our community. We are grateful for his work and for the impact he continues to make 🌟

Thank you to everyone who supported Taste of Laradise… your generosity allowed us to proudly support the Laramie Youth Crisis Center and the work they do for local kids and families.

Thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored and supported Taste of Laradise this year… we were able to present a check for over $11,000 to our 2025 friends at the .

Your support helps make services like crisis counseling, shelter care, family coaching and the WyoText mental health line possible for local kids and families when they need it most… and we are so grateful for this amazing community that shows up year after year.

Stay tuned for updates on Taste of Laradise 2026… we’re already cooking up something exciting! 💛

💛 A big thank you to our guests, Christine Robinson, Ali Psusha, and Douglas Smith!

Christine and Ali shared how Jason's Friends Foundation supports Wyoming families with children battling cancer — from travel and lodging to everyday bills. Douglas gave a moving personal story about how the foundation helped his family during his daughter's recovery.

We’re so grateful for the incredible work Jason’s Friends Foundation does across Wyoming, including right here in Laramie.
