For the first time in nearly two decades, we're sending a member of the LPHS Speech Team to the NSDA National Tournament! Rising Junior Halyn Pumroy will proudly represent La Porte High School in Richmond, Virginia, this month. Way to go, Halyn! Hey, everybody! We won a trophy over the weekend! GO SLICER SPEECH! 🖤🧡

The Slicer Speech team competed at the Tatiana Jimenez Memorial Speech Tournament held this past Saturday at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Indiana.

LPHS Speech brought only five competitors, but every one of our competitors earned a ribbon! Individual place winners are as follows:

Jannis Jacuinde, 6th Place, Discussion
Jaxon Polite, 5th Place, Program of Oral Interpretation
Karsyn Klein, 3rd Place, Program of Oral Interpretation
Eli Sue Shaffer, 3rd Place, Impromptu Speaking
Halyn Pumroy, 1st Place, Poetry Interpretation

LPHS Speech took 5th Place overall at the competition despite our relatively small numbers!

The Slicer Speech and Debate Teams will travel to Elkhart High School this coming Saturday to compete in the Kevin Ong Memorial Tournament. Go, Slicers!
