🧡💚 Class 43 has officially entered the chat! 💛💙

Last Thursday, Leadership La Porte County alumni and members of Class 43 came together at the La Porte County Historical Society Museum for our quarterly Alumni Link Up: Meet & Greet!

The evening included plenty of conversation, new connections, and a Leadership La Porte County-themed scavenger hunt that had everyone exploring the museum, learning a little more about La Porte County, and getting to know each other along the way.

A huge thank you to Museum Director Danielle Adams and County Historian Bruce Johnson (both proud LeadLPC alumni) for hosting us and making the evening so much fun! And yes... Kermit made an appearance! Those who know, know. 🐸😄

La Porte County has had a rough few days. Again.

Frustration is loud. But so are the people who simply rolled up their sleeves and got to work. WE SEE THEM. 💪👀

There is a tremendous amount of work happening right now that most of us will never see. To everyone working, helping, coordinating, responding, restoring, cleaning up, sharing, checking in, and showing patience & grace:

🌟 LLCY 2026 Summer Camp Recap 🌟

Last week, we wrapped up another unforgettable LLCY Summer Camp, and WOW what an incredible week with an even more incredible group of students!
We have so many people to thank for making this camp possible:

💙 Thank you to the Health Foundation of La Porte for your generous grant support, which helps make our youth programs thrive.

🌳 Thank you to LaPorte County Parks for providing the beautiful Novak Shelter at CreekRidge County Park and the Shagbark Shelter at Luhr County Park.

🏫 Thank you to the schools across La Porte County for nominating such exceptional students, and to the parents who encouraged and supported their participation.

🙌 A HUGE shoutout to our phenomenal volunteers and board members! There are too many of you to name, but every one of you made a lasting impact. Your time, wisdom, and encouragement helped create an unforgettable week. We truly couldn't have done it without you!

⭐ And most of all, thank you to our students for showing up, stepping up, and shining bright. You embraced every activity, supported one another, and demonstrated incredible leadership growth throughout the week. We watched new friendships form, confidence grow, and your potential come to life. You are the future, and your future is bright!

Here's to another year of learning, leading, growing together, and making a difference.

Join us in wishing our incredible Youth Coordinator the happiest of birthdays! Her positivity, kindness, and contagious smile make a difference in the lives of so many students, and we're grateful for everything she brings to our Leadership family.

Some losses are simply impossible to put into words.

Our Leadership La Porte County family is heartbroken for Class 42 graduate Christen Zabel and her family after a devastating house fire claimed the life of their beloved daughter, Katie, and destroyed their home.

In a single moment, everything changed. They are now facing the unimaginable grief of losing a daughter while also navigating the overwhelming reality of rebuilding what was lost. While we cannot take away their pain, we can remind them they do not have to carry this burden alone.
