Get ready, get set…go! The 11th Annual Rimfire Carnival will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 10 am to 3 pm. This safe, family-friendly event is open to the public and there will be 20 fun stages including bowling pins, aliens, ducks, zombies, billiards, and more. Each participant will receive tickets at registration good for numerous door prizes, including fi****ms! Stages are set up to accommodate both rifle and handgun in .22 LR only (no centerfire, 17 HMR, 22 mag, etc.). All fi****ms must be unloaded and cased (hard or soft, no holsters) until you are on the firing line under the direction of a Range Safety Officer. Please bring 200 rounds (or more) of .22 LR ammo as each stage is a max of 10 shots. $20 admission includes lunch. Club members can receive $5 back at registration. This event is limited to the first 100 shooters who register and pay. Hurry, this annual event fills up fast. Spectators are welcome to attend (providing they sign a waiver) and they can eat lunch for $5 (payable at registration). The Rifle Range is closed during this annual event starting at sunrise. First day back at DP and had more shooters than any day last calendar year, including ages 8 and up.

Seems like it might be an interesting year at DP.

DP has woken from the annual winter slumber and is ready to get you out to the range and shooting.

We are changing things up a bit and having 4 bigger stages through the bays. This will have you choosing what you are going to shoot while we combine multiple stages, in what has been a single stage in the past.

After careful consideration, we are postponing the NRL22 and Pro Series matches scheduled for this Saturday, December 20, and will instead hold both matches on Saturday, December 27.

This decision is due to the extreme wind conditions currently impacting the range. Conditions have already caused significant issues, including three of the four portable restrooms being blown over, gutters torn off structures, and widespread debris. Beyond the damage concerns, the sustained winds create unsafe match conditions, including the very real risk of fi****ms and equipment being blown off tables.

Our priority is always the safety of our shooters, staff, and volunteers, as well as protecting club-owned and personal equipment. While postponing a match is never an easy call—and we know many of you plan your schedules around these events—we believe this is the responsible and necessary decision given the circumstances.

All registered shooters will be automatically re-registered for Saturday, December 27. If you are unable to attend on the new date, please withdraw from the match no later than December 25 to receive a full refund.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility and look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday under safer conditions. Thank you for your continued support of the program.

Each month, the Northern Colorado Rod & Gun Club hosts its NRL22 and PRO Series matches on the 3rd Saturday with seven exciting stages for participants.
