The LCCF YAC had 9 students attend the 3-day Youth Leadership Conference held at SVSU earlier this month?! Instead of starting their summer vacation to enjoy long lazy days in the sun or hanging out with friends, these amazing students chose to learn how to be better LEADERS in their community!

The Conference, hosted by Council of Michigan Foundations and the Michigan Community Foundations Youth Project (MCFYP) Committee, is an annual event for youth engaged in YACs in Michigan. It aims to emphasize the shared values of YACs and broaden the youth participants' perspectives of their work.

Conference sessions offered learnings around different styles of leadership, how to craft compelling stories that connect their work to the YAC's community partners and donors, strategies for overcoming mental health battles, addressing inequities in their communities, and more.

The LEAF360! Wellness Fair held at the Ed Tech Center on May 2nd was packed with energy, smiles, movement, and FUN — and we have an amazing group of students to thank for that! 🎉

A huge round of applause to the students who helped plan the wellness path and activity stations for the event. Their creativity, teamwork, and passion for helping Lapeer County youth made the day extra special. From getting kids moving to creating engaging activities for families, they absolutely knocked it out of the park! 💚👏

We also want to give a BIG shout out and heartfelt THANK YOU to Michigan Community Service Commission (MCSC) and AmeriCorps for helping fund this incredible day. Your support helped bring wellness, positivity, and community connection to so many families.

What an awesome day celebrating healthy minds, healthy bodies, and an amazing community! 🌟

Some amazing students right here!! Well done!

Youth Advocacy Group of Lapeer County brought in the dog toys they made from scrap material to present to Paradise!!! These will be used for enrichment and training. We are very grateful to this wonderful group of teens in choosing PAR and its animals for their project! Many thanks to this special group.

This past Wednesday, the Lapeer County Community Foundation YAC (Youth Advisory Committee) presented a check in the amount of $1,490 to support Lapeer High School's Project Graduation!

The Asteroid students at Lapeer County Education and Technology Center have launched a Clothing Closet! Not only will it provide much-needed hygiene and clothing items, but students will also organize and maintain it-building valuable skills along the way! YAC was honored to help this project get launched!
