For about 40 years, the 500-acre property tucked away along Old State Road in North Branch was a private family retreat.

This summer, that family sanctuary will open to the public.

Bottom Creek, a sprawling brewery, restaurant, event and live music venue and outdoor recreation destination, is set to open July 11 built around one simple idea: bringing people together.

At the center of the development is a roughly 16,000-square-foot hospitality complex anchored by a standalone brewery, a full-service restaurant, a gift shop and visitor center, a covered pavilion and a central courtyard designed for festivals, concerts and community events.

The family plans to use the property’s expansive outdoor spaces for concerts, festivals, 5K races and seasonal activities. Pumpkin patches, hayrides and additional fall programming are also planned.

A playground and open lawn areas are intended to make the property family friendly, while future phases of the project will add walking trails and bike routes across the land. The property is also home to bison, which guests will be able to view from designated areas.

🏗️ Great news for Lapeer County!

The Village of North Branch has been awarded a $992,000 Michigan Community Revitalization Program (MCRP) grant through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to support the redevelopment of the historic Orr Block Building in downtown North Branch.

The project will transform the long-vacant former hardware store at the corner of Huron and Mill Streets into eight new apartment units and two commercial spaces, bringing new housing opportunities, new jobs, and renewed energy to the heart of downtown. The redevelopment is expected to generate nearly $2.4 million in total investment and create 14 new jobs.

Projects like this demonstrate the power of strategic investment, local leadership, and public-private partnerships to strengthen our communities and create places where people want to live, work, and do business.

Congratulations to the Village of North Branch, the North Branch DDA, project partners, and everyone involved in bringing this vision to life. We look forward to watching this transformational project move forward and continue building momentum throughout Lapeer County.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced three redevelopment projects receiving support from the MEDC’s placemaking programs
