Michigan Republicans are pushing bills that would impose "additional identification verification requirements, restrictions on the use of drop boxes and a provision that would prohibit the secretary of state from mailing voters absentee ballot applications unless they were requested. The truth is, concerns about voter fraud are almost always unfounded." Read more from Arn Tellem, vice chairman of the Detroit Pistons:

Advocates members are on the front lines of Michigan's biggest problems - literally. Here's Advocates member and Jackson Mayor Derek Dobies standing with Machinists Union local 435 on strike!

Working people should be able to get a fair return for their work, have access to affordable healthcare, and retire with dignity. Period. Hard stop.

As mayor, I am proud to stand with my brothers and sisters in the Machinists Union Local 435 as they demand a fair contract. If you can drop by and wave or honk, bring food or firewood as they strike, please do your part to show solidarity with working families here in Jackson: 829 Belden Rd (near Morrell & Cooper).
