Uplift Our Youth Foundation The Foundation originated from a vision of Larry L. Mr. Leatherwood spent many years volunteering in organizations and agencies in Lansing that serve
youth.

The Uplift Our Youth Foundation is an educational and philanthropic
foundation whose purpose is to support projects, programs and activities,
which enhance opportunities for young people in Clinton, Ingham, and Eaton counties. Leatherwood, Founder and first Chairperson in
consultation with Paulette Granberry Russell, who served as the first Vice Chairperson. From his experiences and observations,

he recognized the need for funds to maintain, expand
and create new programs that focused on serving at-promise youth. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded over $150,000 in grants to organizations or agencies
that provide services to at-promise youth in career, educational and other interdisciplinary activities. These grants are made possible by the generous donations from community leaders and businesses
in the Greater Lansing area.

On Thursday, September 17th, we’ll gather for our annual awards and fundraiser event—celebrating inspiring community leaders, spotlighting exceptional students, and awarding more than $15K in grants to organizations dedicated to empowering youth.
