Hello all fellow readers. Hope you have had a chance to look at the new enhanced Book Nook location at the Lansing Library. You will find some great reads (for all ages) at very reasonable prices. There are frequent specials that you will be interested in. Keep in mind that the proceeds of sales from the Book Nook are used for monthly craft kits and other children's activities at the library. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

A quick reminder to attend the Inspectors View being held at Lansing Community Library on Wednesday, August 26 at 6PM. Tom is looking forward to see you and discuss common household electric and plumbing issues.

☀️ Tomorrow (August 5th) is the last day to grab FREE meals for kids at the library! We are so proud to have a library that partnered with Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas to provide weekly meals for families in the community.

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to the volunteers who helped keep the show running each week! 💗 This Summer would not have been possible without them.

We have been trying to find the words to say...It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our Friends of the Library president and one of the group’s founders. He was one of our library’s greatest champions—the backbone of the Friends and someone who always found a way to make things happen.

We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife, Jeannette. Our deepest condolences go out to his family. He will be greatly missed.

Thank you Lansing Community Library for participating in the Catholic Charities free summer lunch program. On Wednesday of each week from 2:00 to 3:00 children up to age 18 can pick up a bag that includes five days worth of lunches. The last day of the program is August 5. The child must be present to obtain the bag.

Please spread the word if you know of anyone that qualifies for the program. No forms are needed to be completed unless you are a parent and the child cannot attend. In that case the parent completes a form and will be asked to wait a week to get the five days worth of lunches.

Hope all have enjoyed the long weekend.
As all are aware the library has been going through some changes - the changes are now complete. Make it a point to stop in and observe the changes. Also be sure to thank the entire staff for their hard work in making the changes complete in a short timeframe. The library reopens at 9:00 on Tuesday, May 26.
