💙 A wonderful evening of connection, community, and hope!

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our generous donors, sponsors, and community members to Ele’s Place for our annual Fall Reception!

It was a special opportunity to celebrate the people who make our mission possible and recognize the incredible community that surrounds grieving children and their families.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all our sponsors, especially our presenting sponsor, Delta Dental of Michigan, for making this memorable evening possible. Your generosity helps ensure that Ele’s Place can continue providing grief support services at no cost to the families we serve.

A huge THANK YOU to our friends at Walmart and Adventure Credit Union for helping Ele’s Place prepare for our annual Fall Reception!

🌿 On October 6, we welcomed volunteers from two Walmart teams: an employee workgroup from the Eastwood Walmart, the Marketing Team, and the Store Manager, from the Okemos Walmart. Together, they helped tidy our grounds, transplant grasses, and sanitize our program rooms.

⭐ On October 8, Adventure Credit Union volunteers tackled the big job of setting up the tent and preparing the rooms for our Fall Reception guests.

We are so grateful for the time, energy, and dedication both groups shared with us. Their hands-on support helped make our space welcoming and ready to bring our community together in support of grieving children and families.

Thank you, Walmart and Adventure Credit Union, for showing up and making a difference! 💙

A few hours of your time can make a lasting difference in a child’s grief journey.💙

You don’t have to have all the answers to make a difference. Sometimes, what a grieving child needs most is a caring adult who is willing to listen, show up, and walk alongside them.

Think you may be interested in becoming a volunteer facilitator? Our next training is coming up in November. No prior experience is necessary. We provide the training and support you need—all we ask is that you bring empathy, compassion, and a willingness to be present.

🎉 What a celebration!

Thursday was the grand opening of Total W**e & More in Frandor, and Ele’s Place is honored to be their charity partner! 💙

The celebration brought out government officials and special guests, including Nigel Barker and Nate Burleson, who were on site to help welcome Total W**e & More to the community.

At Ele's Place, we're always looking for ways to remove barriers to grief support for children and teens.

One way we do that is through Ele's Group, an 8-week peer support program offered directly in schools for students in grades 5-12. By partnering with school counselors and social workers, we're able to provide support during the school day, making it easier for grieving students to access the help they need.

We're grateful to our school partners who help ensure students experiencing the death of a loved one have a place to connect, share, and heal.
