Two spots for tomorrow's class just opened up!
Looking for a date day with a piece of art at the end?

This class is for everyone, from beginners that have never touched a saw to experienced folks that want to make something beautiful.

You'll select the wood that you want to use, create your pattern, use the joiner to prepare the planks, glue them together, and take a break for lunch. After you are refreshed, use the planer to get your final thickness, table saw to get your final size, and sanders to make things smooth. Finish it with some cutting board oil to make it food safe and you'll take your board home that same day!

New Class Alert: Beginner Hand Appliqué
Learn how to appliqué! This class is for folks that already enjoy sewing to absolute beginners that have never threaded a needle.

Using this skill you can decorate clothing, tea towels, and do appliqué quilting, or just patch the knee of your jeans.

We'll be making chicken tea-towels, but if you'd like to make something else instead, contact us and we can work with you on a different design.

One spot left for Wednesday's beginner blacksmithing class!
You'll create an everlasting rose from steel plate, and along the way will learn:
* How to create texture
* Bending and shaping
* Hammer control
* Heat control
* Riveting

This class is pretty physical, but there isn't much that makes you feel more powerful than beating metal into a new shape!

Featured Artist for October: Thomas Moberg!

Thomas is a plein-air painter exploring the beauty found in the mundane. His works of oil paint and oil stick ask us to look a little more deeply and carefully. They are beautifully framed in frames that he builds at Lansing Makers Network. This collection were painted in Wisconson, Iowa, and Michigan.

He was recently named one of the 21 under 31 by Southwest Art Magazine.
