City Rescue Mission Uplift Thrift helps meet needs in our community. As a supporter of the City Rescue Mission of Lansing, the store helps through the sale of items (to fund services) and, especially, through clothing vouchers provided to guests of the City Rescue Mission of Lansing.

Before Hallmark had its own channel it had its "Hall of Fame." (Anyone else remembers those days?) "Sarah Plain and Tall" was one of their features, and it was so popular it had a sequel (Skylark). The movie, starring Glen Close and Christopher Walken, was based on a series of Newberry-medal winning children's books. The story is set in the frontier in the early 1900s and follows a widowed farmer, who places an ad for a wife to help him care for his small children. 🎬
