TECH en la Casa/Technology to Home

TECH en la Casa/Technology to Home TECH en la Casa/Technology to Home is a community-based technology program for adults especially with school-age children in the Greater Lansing schools.

The specific goal is three-tiered:
1. To teach parents/guardians to gain basic computer skills to support their children’s academic achievement.
2. To connect students in elementary and secondary school to parents/guardians and to promote confidence to improve behavior and academic achievement.
3. To motivate university students (undergraduate and graduate) to complete their studies through mentoring opportunities and understanding the importance of their role in serving the community.

We are proud to announce that CADL Okemos Library Assistant Andrea Rodriguez is being honored with the Maria Zavala Award at the annual Dia De La Mujer Conference, held at Michigan State University. The statewide leadership conference is dedicated to the advancement of Latinas.

Andrea is being recognized for over 25 years as an educator in the Lansing School District, along with 30 years of community service as a mentor, committee member and co-founder of many programs. Her work at CADL includes teaching English as a second language to elementary students and co-facilitating a Conversational Spanish class for adults.

Please join us in congratulating and thanking Andrea for her dedicated service to our community!
