Carmen Carlton, Bookkeeper‘s pick of the week is Silver Jewelry by Jim Davis

"My favorite artwork showcases Lansing's local artist Jim Davis. His silverwork jewelry is beautifully simple and lovingly hand-crafted. Jim’s earrings, large and small, can be dangly or solid pendants often incorporating semi-precious gemstones. One of my favorite possessions is one of his silver and turquoise bracelets. I have worked at the gallery for over sixteen years and I can’t think of any employee or volunteer who has not walked out of here without owning at least one of Jim’s timeless pieces. They are that appealing!!!"

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude for everyone who attended or helped out with our Not Dead, Yet! Fundraising event last Friday!

What a vibrant, joyful event we were able to share with our community. Special shoutout to all of our artists and vendors who were there live painting, selling merchandise, drawing caricatures, face painting, and helping make this event so special. We couldn't have done it without all of you!

More updates to come, but for now we'd like to thank:
Jenn Carpenter from Deadtime Stories: True Crime and Other Books
Dennis Preston for Caricatures
Sera Reneé from Contrasted Content
Live painters Brian Whitfield, Marissa Thaler, Steph Joy Hogan, and Anna Zander
DJ Y'Z Rayshawn Grissom Y'z

Thank you to all of our volunteers, board members, donors, and attendees for bringing this event to life! We are so grateful for all of the support!

If you were not able to attend the event but would still like to donate to our fundraiser, there's still time to donate here:

Em Fisher, Gallery Associate’s pick of the week is the Blue Teapot by artist Kathe Smith.

"I love the uniquely shaped handle of the teapot and the bright blue and black colors. It's such a fun piece and a definite conversation starter! Kathe’s pieces are full of character and color, making each one functional yet also decorative. She makes so many versatile and useful ceramic pieces that are the perfect addition to any kitchen or home!"
