We're hiring a Generational Programs Manager!!!

The Generational Programs Manager will be a member of the Outreach & Engagement Team, and will provide age-specific educational and social programming in the neighborhood. Specifically, the Manager will oversee the following programs:

The Senior Discovery Group has been meeting every Wednesday for the last 25 years for ‘pretty good coffee and great conversation.' This program offers weekly enrichment for seniors with both educational and social programming, as well as snacks and guest presenters. Activities range from: international guest speakers from Michigan State University; elected officials presenting updates and receiving feedback; estate planning; bocce ball; crafts; agefriendly yoga, and more.

Youth Service Corps (YSC) is a community-driven, youth-led job and life skill development program for neighbors between the ages of 11-17. YSC was Allen Neighborhood Center’s very first program back in 1999 and grew out a four-year-old ‘healthy communities’ initiative that mobilized neighbors to create a more vibrant community on Lansing’s Eastside.

Take Root Garden Club is a curriculum-based gardening and nutrition education program for youth ages 5-10. Offered as a collaborative partnership with Lansing Parks & Recreation, Take Root Garden Club is hosted at Foster Community Center, only a few blocks away from ANC. A combination of hands-on and assessment-based learning guides the city’s youngest neighbors through topics related to health, nutrition, native plants, and urban gardening.

Meet your vendors! 🌞

Pagans In Need will be at Welcome Summer Festival on June 6th — and they're not selling anything.

Every Sunday morning, rain or shine, they provide Lansing with free food and zero strings attached. No sermon. No means test. Just "may you never hunger" put into action.

Come meet them. Learn how to support the work. Or just say thank you.

Lake Lansing Park South, Haslett. Free admission.
