We wanted to give a big thank you to anyone that helped with the raffle basket fundraier that we had at our Annual Invitational. Thank you to people and businesses for donating baskets, to the people that helped run it and set it up and anyone that helped organize it and a big thank you to anyone that bought tickets. This was a successsful event that helps our club keep going.

On Friday, May 15th, the Lansing Youth Trap held their 4th annual memorial tournament, in memory of Marc Stout, John Wayne Orr, James Reinhart, and Mark Welch. Schools represented, with nearly 50 trap shooters, were: Corning Painted Post, Watkins Glen, Montour Falls, Trumansburg, Moravia, Marathon, and Lansing. It was a great afternoon of fun with raffle baskets, a pulled pork dinner, and lots of catching up for everyone, recognition of our seniors, but most importantly safe firearm handling demonstrated by all the kids involved.

In the novice class 3rd place went to Brandon A. of Lansing, 2nd place to Ben W. of Trumansburg, and 1st place to Natalie P. of Moravia. In the JV class 3rd place went to Owen B. of Watkins Glen, 2nd place to Wesley M. of Trumansburg, and 1st place to Carter B. of Moravia. In the Varsity class 3rd place went to Auhtumn B. of Lansing, 2nd place to Gaven W. of Corning Painted Post, and 1st place to Jackson M. Of Lansing. Best wishes to everyone at the state tournament in early June.

A special thank you to all of the parents, volunteers from the Lansing Rod and Gun Club, Tompkins County Fish and Game Club and the kids who helped refill the trap houses. Without everyone who stepped up, this event would not have been possible. We are looking forward to hosting our 5th annual tournament next mid-May of 2027.

Congratulations to Logan for shooting his first 50 straight. I guess a new hat will be needed for this week.

Hello all we are trying a new fundraiser this year for the trap team. A raffle basket fundraiser. This will be held at our annual invitational on May 15th and the drawing for winners will be done towards the end of the event. I have the ticket price sheet attached. If you want to buy tickets call or text Kim Budd 607-279-4434. Each person buying will pick a number I will write your name and phone number next to that number and your assigned number will go on the back of each ticket. Basket number 1 isn't pictured because that is a pie basket and we want that to be fresh. Other baskets we are waiting to be finalized are: lotto basket, holiday basket, Bass pro basket and a doggie basket. Basket #19 has pocket knife so you must be 18 or older to enter to win and the wine baskets you must be 21 or older to be entered to win. Thank you for supporting Lansing Youth Trap!!

What the news doesn’t tell you is that Punxsutawney Phil also predicted a phenomenal pancake breakfast on March 1st at the North Lansing Fire Station to help support two great local youth groups; the scouts and LCSD youth trap team. Thank you Lansing Business Alliance.

The LCSD Youth Trap club had their fall banquet with awards tonight. At the state level Jackson M. came in first place for males and Auhtum B. in first place for females. In the conference it was one two three for the boys with Jackson M., Jarod H., and Logan M. The ladies came in first and third in the conference with Auhtum B. and Maddison B. Congratulations to all those who participated for our fall season. Looking forward to a successful spring season.

At the end of a long week, let the Lansing Youth Trap team serve you a spaghetti dinner, at the Lansing Rod and Gun Club, on Salmon Creek Road, from 4:00 till gone ( most likely 7:00 pm) this Friday November 7th. Come on out for a great dinner and help support a good cause. Thank you for your support.
