Today, we join millions around the world in remembering the incredible life and legacy of Dolly Parton. ❤️

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, her love of children, reading, and opportunity has reached families in communities across the country—including right here in ours.

Child and Family Charities is proud to serve as the local organization helping bring the Imagination Library to children in our community, ensuring young readers receive a free, high-quality book in the mail each month from birth to age five.

Dolly’s impact will live on in every story read at bedtime, every child excited to see a book arrive with their name on it, and every family given the opportunity to build a love of reading together.

We are deeply grateful for the legacy she created—and honored to help carry it forward. 📚❤️

What a Bash! Last week, we wrapped up our Fill-the-Backpack Back-to-School Drive with our Backyard Backpack Bash, bringing families together for an afternoon of fun and making sure local students are ready for the school year ahead.

A huge thank you to our event sponsors — Kiwanis Club of Lansing, Jay Trucks & Associates, The Lansing Lugnuts, Consumers Energy, King Of The Grill Express and Your Home Solution Experts — for helping make the day possible.

We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who participated in our school supply drives and to the volunteers who gave their time to make the Bash a success. We couldn’t do this without you!

Yesterday, our friends at Granger Construction Company brought smiles, their time and talents, and even an excavator! Because of your generosity, 108 items plus our match, making a total of 216 items, have been donated! Students in our community will have the supplies they need to start the new school year feeling confident, prepared, and ready to learn. We’re proud to support such a wonderful organization and cause!
