"...A humanity that in this era of artificial intelligence, of historic transformations, faces a crucial decision: To build a new tower of Babel, or a holy city to dwell in with God."

A video introduction/overview of Pope Leo's new encyclical on humanity in the age of artificial intelligence:

With the release of the Holy Father's encyclical, Catholic social teaching is back in the news. But what is that?

For a crash course, consider checking out MCC's recent Focus publication that introduces the major principles of Catholic social teaching, and how they can help us each live out the Gospel more concretely in our everyday lives.

In his new encyclical on artificial intelligence, Pope Leo "grounds his teaching in our firm belief that each and every one of us is sacred, made in God’s image, and possesses intrinsic dignity."

Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger weighs in on Magnifica Humanitas:

In 'Magnifica Humanitas,' Pope Leo XIV grounds his teaching in our firm belief that each and every one of us is sacred, made in God’s image, and possesses intrinsic dignity, Archbishop Weisenburger writes.

For Memorial Day this year, it is important to remember all men and women who have died in the line of duty—including those in the recent military operations around Iran.

According to multiple sources as of this date, at least 13 U.S. servicemembers have died in the recent hostilities. As people of faith, let us commend their souls to God, as well as the loved ones they left behind, as we also pray for peace in our nation and world:

Heavenly Father, we lift up in prayer today our brothers and sisters who have gone before us, sacrificing their own lives for the protection and safety of others.

May they inspire us to live selflessly in our own lives, as Christ calls us to do.

As we pray for those who lost their lives in conflict throughout our history, we recognize the ongoing war and violence that continues to plague humanity in many places, many forms.

Today, we pray for peace, which those we honor today fought valiantly to achieve.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Read more about the huge opportunity to help Michigan students via Detroit Catholic:

All that is needed to put this policy in motion is for the state of Michigan to tell the federal government it wants to participate. If Michigan opts out, Michigan students will miss out.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MCC Calls on State to Opt in to Federal Education Tax Credit.

Michigan Catholic Conference is calling on the state to opt in to the Federal Education Tax Credit, a measure that would make substantial financial support available to public and nonpublic school families facing out-of-pocket education expenses, without impacting the state School Aid Fund.
