Greater Lansing Youth For Christ Lansing Youth For Christ has been faithfully "communicating THE life-changing message of Jesus Christ" for over 70 years!

YFC's focus has always been the teenager, and our ministries have increasingly targeted unchurched and hard-to-reach youth. Our mission is shared with Youth for Christ in over 100 countries and 200 cities in the United States. Here in Lansing we have 12 paid staff and 30 volunteers working to reach lost teenagers in 7 area high schools & 4 area detention centers

Josiah LeBlanc is our Waverly Campus Life director! He's poured years into this community and his students at Wavo and is known for his endless investment in the people around him 🔥

"This year, I'm incredibly thankful for what God has for Waverly going forward. I've learned every year into this ministry is another vear of God's faithfulness to relationships: with students, parents and staff I feel like there is more to be gained from discipleship this vear and we have the team to do it! We're in a new era in many ways, the biggest being my oldest daughter off to college along with our bovs we brought in, all to the same place. Our family is going to look different day to dav but there are plenty of ways we're going to continue to love the community and reach people for the Kingdom God is good through all things." -Josiah

Little update! Our team at Greater Lansing YFC had our Staff Kickoff on Monday! It was a time of breaking bread and laying the foundations of a good year of ministry!

Our team has grown this year and is welcoming a lot of new staff, so pray for us as we embark on a new adventure together for the school year of 2026-2027! Praise God 🔥

Topher and Heaven Verhil run the Dewitt High Campus Life every Tuesday with their students! This is their second year at DHS and they couldn't be more excited!

Topher is the director at Dewitt and Heaven helps him run Club and connect with students! Their passion is to make disciples of Jesus and create deep relationships with students.

"I am most looking forward to continuing relationships with students that we started last year and welcoming the incoming freshmen to the high school. I love being up at the high school with the students, and I’m excited to continue more of that and substitute teach on the side. We get to start new relationships with freshmen as well as continue to nurture relationships with current Campus Life students. That gets me super excited!

A quote that I am reminded of in this season is Galatians 6:9 in which it says, 'And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.' I love the garden imagery of sowing and reaping. I want to sow well because in due time there will be a harvest plentiful and abundant. That’s what I think about heading into another school year. The harvest is plentiful, and I’m excited to reap a great harvest with our team and our students." -Topher

"What I am most excited for are the moments I'll fail to anticipate where the Lord introduces me to a new student, where I learn something unexpected, and where I see the heart of God in someone I never intended to find it. The Lord pretty much always blows our expectations with ministry out of the water. And I cannot wait to see Him do it again this year.

A verse that encapsulates this season would be: 'Now if the ministry of death, carved on stone, came with such glory that the Israelites could not gaze at Moses' face because of its glory, which was being brought to an end, will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?' (2 Corinthians 3:7-8)" - Heaven

After wrapping up Campus Life clubs for the 2025–2026 school year and before kicking off the summer, our team stepped away this week for a few days of planning, prayer, team building, and vision casting for the year ahead. We’re grateful for the time we had together to connect, reflect, and prepare as we continue investing in students. Grateful for this team and all God is doing at YFC!
