DOOR International

DOOR International Deaf reaching Deaf for Christ There are an estimated 70 million Deaf people worldwide, and less than 2% of them know Christ.

DOOR International’s mission is to bring God’s Word and reproducing Christian fellowships to the Deaf of the world. Our calling is two-fold: translation and training.

--We help Deaf communities translate the Bible (and other resources) into their sign languages.
--We train and equip Deaf leaders in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting to reach their communities for Christ.

Bible poverty isn’t just the absence of a printed Bible. It’s the absence of God’s Word in a language people can truly understand.

For millions of Deaf people, that language is sign language. Yet most still have little to no access to Scripture in their heart language.

The Church is called to make the gospel accessible to every nation, tribe, and language, including the Deaf community. 🤟

When Deaf people encounter Scripture in sign language, lives change, communities grow, and the gospel becomes personal. 🙏

“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few…” — Matthew 9:37–38

As new Deaf leaders step into ministry, let’s pray that God strengthens and sends them with boldness into His harvest. 🙏

May lives be transformed as His Word is shared in sign language across nations.

Deaf identity is more than what the world often assumes. It is language, culture, community, and connection. 🤟

Being Deaf is not a weakness or something that needs to be “fixed.” Every Deaf person deserves to be seen, valued, and included exactly as they are.

When we shift the conversation from deficit to dignity, we create a world where Deaf people can fully thrive.

Part 3 of DOOR's history is here! 🤟

Swipe through to see the milestones that mark over 40 years of Deaf leaders rising, sign language Scriptures coming to life, and the gospel reaching communities that had never seen God's Word in their heart language.

Every milestone is a person. Every translation is a community with access to the gospel for the first time. Every year is evidence of God's faithfulness to the Deaf world. 🌍

If you missed Part 1 or 2, go back and see where the story began. And stay with us — the next chapter is still being written.

Pray for the Deaf leaders and translation teams continuing this work today. 🙏

For many Deaf people, God’s Word has never been in their heart language.
But that’s changing.

Every sign. Every movement. Every moment captured brings Scripture to life in a way that can finally be seen and understood.

This is more than translation.
It’s access. It’s connection. It’s truth made visible.

God was building something bigger than anyone could see at the time. 🤟

Every milestone is a reminder: Deaf people are not an afterthought in God's mission. They are leaders, church planters, and carriers of the Gospel in their own communities and their own languages. 🙏

There is still more! Stay tuned for Part 3!

Millions of Deaf people are still waiting to experience God’s Word in their heart language. Many sign languages still have no Scripture translation.

Pray for Deaf communities still waiting for own first sign language Bible translation. 🙏

Every movement starts with a single step of obedience. 🤟

In 1983, Vesta Bice founded Reaching Out to Texas Deaf with a simple yet powerful conviction: Deaf people deserve access to the gospel in their heart language.

Swipe through to see how that one act of faithfulness became DOOR International.

This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for Part 2! 🙏

Lord, we pray for unity among Deaf churches across every nation, culture, and sign language. 🤟

Though languages and traditions may differ, may the Deaf community around the world be united in Christ — encouraging one another, growing together in faith, and reflecting Your love across borders.

Pray for stronger connections, deeper understanding, and a shared mission to make Jesus known in every Deaf community. 🌍
