Beginner Series starts at 6:00pm before the auction and will cover the topic of prepping for winter.

Pictured: Wellfield Botanical Garden in Elkhart, Indiana. It was a delightful venue for the Michiana Bonsai Society show last weekend. The photo is a portion of their Japanese garden which is one of the best I have seen in regard to using plants that thrive in the midwest and applying them according to Japanese garden aesthetic traditions. Staghorn sumac along a river and set before a willow are pictured here. Considered a “weed,” staghorn sumac are useful and seasonally transformative native plants. In this garden, these sumac are elegantly styled and work well with the niwaki aesthetic.

What a great turn out for our MMBC Annual Show!! We had a wonderful selection of trees on display and a steady flow of traffic of people filled with curiosity and wonder. Thank you to all of the members who contributed their trees and time to make this a successful event. Also a big THANK YOU to Van Atta's Greenhouse and Flower Shop for their partnership, greenhouse space, set up, and amazing staff.
