Today in Celebrate Recovery we talked about Galatians 5. The desires of the flesh keep you from the things that you want. Sin often takes the very thing it promises. Its like drinking saltwater when you are thirsty. It looks like it will satisfy, but it leaves a bigger void than before. The fruit of the spirit however, love joy peace patience kindness goodness self control, are not a hard sell...

Today's Celebrate Recovery group was powerful. 60 men gathered with a vulnerability rarely seen in prison settings. Men openly shed tears and encouraged one another. One shared about the loss of his son and how it drove him to drugs and alcohol to escape the pain, before finding true healing in Jesus. He is officially 90 days clean and sober as of today. That's only one of many powerful testimonies shared today.

Best quote from our Celebrate Recovery group today: "Today's my birthday and its the first birthday I can remember in a very long time where I am sober. I don't think i really used to understand what love is, but now i do. Thank you guys"
