Nearly 300 runners took over Hawk Island Park Sunday morning, many in Halloween costumes. Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region hosted its sixth annual Miles for Mentorship 5K and Spooky Sprint at the Red Tail. Details at link below ⬇️

Calling all Shiawassee friends or anyone looking for a great volunteer opportunity this weekend!

Volunteers Needed: Help Support Shiawassee Goodfellows!

For more than 94 winters, Shiawassee Goodfellows has been helping keep children in Shiawassee County warm, providing new coats, boots, hats, scarves, and other warm clothing to local children in need. Since 1932, more than 19,000 children have been helped through their efforts.

Now they need volunteers to help continue this longstanding tradition!

The Annual Goodfellows Paper Sale will take place Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 at Walmart entrances. Volunteers can choose a shift that works for their schedule and help by greeting shoppers, selling papers, and collecting donations.

A little time can make a big difference! Grab a coworker, friend, or family member and consider volunteering to support Shiawassee Goodfellows and the children they serve throughout our region.
