Twenty GMLSC volunteers gathered at Restoration
Life on a gorgeous weather September morning. We
Loaded food into vehicles as they passed through a
Mobile Food Distribution of the Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB).

After two hours of fulfilling "work", we learned that 350 families had been served. On top of that, we really had a fun time, with lots of good camaraderie. We hope that you can join us for the next GLFB volunteer session on Saturday December 10 at the Bath warehouse, 9-11 a.m.

Oldsmobile birthday party !!

Ten members attended the Lugnuts vs. Great Lakes Loons baseball game on July 22. A good time was had by all as described by Chairperson Kerry Stensen. 🤗 They ate traditional ballpark food and cheered the Lugnuts on, sadly they did not win. 😟

Consider joining us next time. The Tailgate Terrace works great for us, $31 includes your ticket and a pass thru the food line with unlimited beverages. 👍

Last week we held our second Golf Social at good old Eldorado with 7 foursomes in the scramble. It was a 9 a.m. shotgun start on the far west / Blue course and a little on the warm side. When asked by the MC if anyone did not sweat, no one raised their hand.

We had a scrumptious lunch, and then several prizes were handed out. Check out the winners! 🏆 Our Club loves to be social, and we welcome anyone with a GM relationship to join.

More events coming this year: Pickleball, Earvin Johnson Sr. Auto Show participation, Bike Tour, Greater Lansing Food Bank, perhaps more golf, Annual Business Meeting with Ralph Shaheen as guest speaker, and more. Stay tuned!

On June 28 the GMLSC Club sponsored an outing to Tigers Comerica Park. Dean Charters was the bus company and Tigers Group Sales was the source of Tickets. Section 117 and 125 were the location of Tickets. Point of embarkation was GM lot 8-10, just off Malcom X Street. 55 tickets were purchased; Price was $77 per ticket. It was a 10-inning game. Tigers lost 7 to 5.

Early stages of a second outing are underway for September 27, last home game of the 2026 season, watch our publications for more information.

We have a lot going on, join us for only $10.

Four of our members set up camp at the 32nd Oldsmobile Homecoming Car Show & Swap Meet at Auto-Owners on June 20th. We were there to enjoy the show, meet new people, and recruit new members.

Three of our members were there to display their personal classics: Randy Thayer with his 1968 442, Tony Kolp with his 1965 Jetstar, and Terry Hammond with his 1967 Cutlass.

The R.E. Olds Chapter also hosted a charity benefit auction featuring automotive memorabilia, parts, and collectibles. Another standard feature of the event is the tattoo contest—always fun to watch!

The next car shows our team will participate in is the 33rd Car Capitol Auto Show at the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum on July 18th followed by the 3rd Ervin Johnson, Sr. ...Car and Truck Show on August 22. See you there! 🤗

WOW!
Seventeen of us from the Club had a splendid time working our 10th Greater Lansing Food Bank distribution on June 18th.

Into patrons’ vehicles, as they passed through the line, we loaded a variety of roughly ten different food items from asparagus to jugs of milk to frozen chicken. After an hour and a half of real hustle, we were told we had helped just over 300 families with their food needs.

On top of that, we had a swell time with lots of laughs! Come join the fun and satisfying work at the next GLFB event on Saturday, September 12th. Contact [email protected]
