For the third year in a row, the Boys & Girls Club asked us to do a final tune-up on a fresh batch of donated bicycles—and our team of "so-called" mechanics definitely did not disappoint! 🛠️🚲

With three Club members (Randy, Ed, and John) in the crew, we spent nearly two hours getting all 13 bikes ready for some energetic kids to enjoy. These bikes are officially ready for some lucky kids! 🚲✨

Representatives from our organization recently participated in the annual National Association of Letter Carriers food collection at the Lansing Marshall Street Armory. Our members assisted in the sorting of local donations, which were subsequently transported to the Greater Lansing Food Bank in Bath.

These efforts support food distribution networks across a seven-county region. We are honored to contribute to the success of this vital community initiative.

Last month, thirteen enthusiastic car buffs headed south to Spring Arbor for a private tour of the Ye Ole Carriage Shop. What an absolute gem of a collection! We had a great time exploring all the incredible history tucked away in this local treasure.

Since the '70s, Judi and Lloyd Ganton have been collecting incredible treasures, eventually building a 20,000-square-foot facility to house it all in the '90s. With a heavy focus on vehicles built in Jackson, the place is absolutely bursting with history. Definitely check it out if you can!

A big thanks to Club member Larry Doyle for organizing this great field trip.

It’s only fitting that a social club with "GM" in the title spends time at the best car museums around! We had a great time at the Gilmore last year and the Pontiac Transportation Museum last week. Next up: Ye Ole Carriage Shop Museum in Spring Arbor later this month! See our March 22 post for full details. We’d love for you to join the fun—check out these photos from last week’s trip!

300 Hours of Heart: Behind-the-Scenes Look at Our GLFB Journey.

Last month we completed our 9th work session with the Greater Lansing Food Bank! Event Chairperson Larry Doyle called it a "rousing success".

Over the past two years, our quarterly sessions have added up to more than 300 hours of volunteer service. The 12-minute behind-the-scenes video below highlights some of our activity at the GLFB warehouse in Bath during the colder months, as well as our work at local churches in the summer. Grab your favorite beverage, settle in, relax, and enjoy the show.

Larry has 2 more sessions scheduled for June 18 and September 12. We hope to see you there as we continue to support our community! (Contact Larry on [email protected] to sign up)

The GMLSC volunteer session at the Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) warehouse in Bath on Thursday, December 11, was a great success! It was our 8th session over the last 2 years assisting the GLFB.

The two-hour work session involved checking/cleaning/sorting bins of donated food items and packing them into specific-weight boxes. On a second "assembly line", three members were posted to join other regular volunteers packing bags of food for kids. We excelled at both operations and had a splendid time working together.

There were 22 GMLSC volunteers that were able to be there. And 4 of those were new to the effort. We're very happy to have the new folks join us!

Our Club was very proud to help out the Old Newsboys Association of Greater Lansing for the 4th year. This year was the 101st year of this Giving Organization.

Our Chairperson for this Community Service is Randy Thayer. He has a goal of staffing all Quality Dairy stores. This year on December 4th that goal pushed forward and we staffed 13 of the 26 stores with 31 willing participants on that chilly day. Not only did the group expand, so did the money. We collected a whopping $4,328, a 44% increase over last year, wow! 🤗

All contributions go to schools where children in need receive boots, shoes, and/or socks. If you missed out on the collection of your "Lansing Spoof Journal" that is a token for a contribution, you can grab one any year on the first Thursday in December. Also you can go to their website and contribute anytime.

December 11th will be another Community Service event for our group: assisting the Greater Lansing Food Bank (GLFB) at the Bath warehouse. It is with a big smile that Chariperson Larry Doyle says we more than filled the number of participants needed for that day. 🤗

Also our Club assisted The Salvation Army volunteer needs under the Chairperson Charlene Crosby. 🤗
