This past weekend, SWAG teamed up with Southside Community Coalition to celebrate Earth Day the best way we know how, by showing up and putting in the work.

Together, we cleaned up Beacon Park, the surrounding SSCC areas, the Beacon soccer field, and the Town Square. We also kicked off construction on a new community food pantry box, something that will continue to give long after the day was over.

Clean-ups are always more than just picking up trash for us. They’re a chance to connect, build, and take action in the same community we live, work, and play in.

Appreciate everyone who came out and made it happen. Special thanks to Capital Area Housing Partnership for bringing out the tool truck and the City of Lansing for providing additional tools.

From s’mores and hot cocoa to pony rides, music, dancing, and Santa's smile. South Lansing really showed up and showed out at Holiday in the Square!

Events like this don’t happen on their own, and we’re so grateful for the incredible community partners and small businesses who made this year's event possible including the City of Lansing, Michigan - Government, Rathbun Insurance, Lansing Board of Water & Light, Strange Matter Coffee Co., DJ E-Nyce, DreamWorld Studios for the Arts EnHarmony Productions LLC Chamberlin Pony Rides, Cameron Warren Photography, Top Shelf Party Rental , Cirea Strode, and so many more who poured their hearts into this day.
