We had a blast joining the Detroit Lions yesterday at their One Pride Literacy Fest. We joined the Library of Michigan along with 3rd graders from around MI to celebrate reading!

1. Everyone couldn’t wait to meet Roary and Clifford, with his friends from Detroit PBS Kids!

2. We loved being a part of the One Pride Literacy Fest at Ford Field yesterday!

3. We ❤️ Reading!

4. We were thrilled to see Johnathan Rand, author of Michigan Chillers and American Chillers, as the Keynote Speaker for the One Pride Literacy Fest! He even led sessions to help students create their own spooky stories.

5 Our friends at the Motown Museum were on hand to help students explore Detroit’s musical legacy & use their literary skills with activities focused on lyrics & storytelling.

6 Cathy Lancaster, LM’s Youth Services Coordinator, shares info with students on MeL (Michigan eLibrary) brought to Michiganders through the Library of Michigan.

7 Sarah Shaw, Executive Director of the Foundation, adds a MeL football into a student’s bag.

8 Cathy & Sarah meet up with Roary at the Detroit Lions One Pride Literacy Fest.

9 Sarah at Ford Field for the Detroit Lions One Pride Literacy Fest.

10 Thank you! Your donations to the Library of Michigan Foundation provided funding to purchase MeL items for each of the students.

Remembering former Randy Riley on his birthday. We're sharing the original photo of Randy that is the basis for the Trading Card that was developed with the Library of Michigan Foundation. The image is a selfie Randy took outside of the Mancelona Township Library in 2019.
