There couldn’t have been a more fitting first title for me than Miss Heart of Michigan. I have truly poured my heart into every moment.
From day one, it has been the privilege of my life to wear Miss Heart over my own heart, representing not only an underrepresented region, as the first person from my hometown area to ever compete at Miss Michigan, but also the grit, grace, and determination of small town girls with big dreams. I have grown, I have given, and I have learned. Everything I had was lovingly put into this role, and I would never change a thing about how authentically I led.
To the young girls who saw themselves in me: never let anyone tell you that where you come from limits where you can go. The “Heart” of my title has served as a constant reminder to lead with mine, and because of that, it will forever hold a piece of it. Small town, big dreams, bigger heart.
To mom and dad: thank you for always believing in me. Your advice, encouragement, and support throughout the 25 years of my life is what made this dream possible.
To Amber, the best sister a girl could ask for: thank you for driving 8 hours to watch me shine and for coming on stage with me through your music. I couldn’t ask for a better person to walk alongside during the transition from girlhood to womanhood.
To Laurel, my best friend long before becoming my sash sister: this would not have been possible without you. You believed in me for years, building me up until I believed in myself too. You are the true embodiment of what this organization is all about.
To all of my friends: your letters, words of encouragement, and belief in me long before I wore a crown has made this experience so, so special. I have never taken my people for granted, and whether you were cheering in the crowd, watching from home, or thinking of me along the way, your presence and love were felt.
What was once my story will become a highlight reel, but I will carry this title and all that it represents with me, forever.
Miss Heart of Michigan, I had the time of my life, with you. Long live.🩷
For the final time,
Miss Heart of Michigan 2025
